As a charter member of the United States Judo Federation, El Toro Judo Club follows their spirit and general requirements as part of its promotion system.
Kodomo (kids under 17 years of age) follow a eleven kyu system which is designed to provide a path towards judo excellence while holding the spirit and cultural of traditional Kodokan Judo.
Seinan (Adults) have a six kyu system. Ranks of Brown and Black belt follow the requirements of the USJF.

El Toro Judo Club follows the Nanka guidelines for Ranks of 2nd Dan and Higher.
The table below show how rank earned as a Kodomo are converted when a student becomes a Seinan (17 years old).
Upon rank conversion a new Rank Certificate may be requested.
