As a charter member of the United States Judo Federation, El Toro Judo Club follows their spirit and general requirements as part of its promotion system.

Kids (under 17 years of age) follow a twelve kyu system which is designed to provide a path towards judo excellence while holding the spirit and cultural of traditional Kodokan Judo.

Adults have a six kyu system for beginners.  Ranks of Brown and Black belt follow the requirements of the USJF.
